Privacy

The short version

This site does not track you. There are no analytics, no advertising, no cookies and no forms. Nothing you do here is profiled or sold, and there is no account to create. The one thing that leaves your browser is a question you choose to type into Digiguru, the assistant on this site, and that is covered below.

The only information that reaches Craig is what you choose to send by email.

What is stored in your browser

Three small values are kept by your own browser and never leave your device. The About page remembers that you have visited before, so it can greet a returning reader differently. The site remembers, for the length of your browsing session, that the opening animation has already played, so it does not repeat on every page. And if you use Digiguru, your conversation is kept for the length of that browsing session so it survives moving between pages.

None of these identify you. The Digiguru conversation is held only by your browser, in this tab, and closing the tab ends it. Clearing your browsing data removes all three.

Digiguru

Digiguru is the assistant built into this site — named after the handle Craig has used online for years. Nothing happens unless you open it and ask something. When you do, your question and the current conversation are sent to this site’s own server, which looks up the relevant parts of Craig’s published knowledge and passes both to an AI provider to compose the answer. That provider processes the request under its own terms.

No transcript is kept. The server records only enough to know the feature works — that a question was asked, how long the answer took, which knowledge documents matched, and how many tokens it cost — and never the question, the answer or anything derived from them. There is no database of conversations, here or anywhere.

Everything Digiguru can say is published at /knowledge.json, so there is no hidden material behind it. Please do not send personal or confidential information through it; email is the right route for anything of that kind.

Third parties

The site serves its own fonts, styles, scripts and animation libraries. No third party is contacted to render an ordinary page, so no one else sees your IP address simply because you visited.

Some articles contain video from YouTube or Vimeo, or posts from X. These do not load automatically. You see a still image or the post’s text, both served from this site, and nothing is requested from YouTube, Vimeo or X until you press play or choose to load the post. Once you do, that company receives your request under its own privacy policy and may set cookies. If you never press play, they are never contacted.

Hosting and logs

The site is hosted by Netlify, which keeps standard server logs including IP addresses for security and operational purposes. Craig does not use those logs to build any profile of visitors.

Email

If you email hello@craigjamieson.com, that message and your address are kept for as long as needed to reply and to keep a record of the conversation. It is not added to a mailing list and not shared with anyone else.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask what personal data is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to its use. Because this site collects nothing automatically, in practice this applies only to email correspondence. Write to hello@craigjamieson.com and Craig will respond.

Changes

If the site starts collecting anything it does not collect today, this page will say so before that happens.
